How we write and check these pages

Every schedule, travel rule and guide on Paw Carnet is written with AI and checked against its sources. Here is how, and where that stops.

Written with AI; sources checked by automated review on ; not reviewed by a veterinarian.

Who writes these pages

AI agents draft every page, rule line and guide step from the sources named on it, and other AI agents check them. There is no veterinarian on staff, and no veterinarian has reviewed these pages. If one ever reviews a page, that page will name them and the date of the review.

We say this plainly because it changes how much weight a page can bear. These pages help you prepare and ask better questions; your vet and the authorities decide.

Where the facts come from

  • Vaccine windows: the 2024 vaccination guidelines of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA), cited line by line on each schedule.
  • Travel rules: the EU regulations themselves, the European Commission's pages for pet owners, and GOV.UK for Great Britain. Each step links to its source.
  • Emergency numbers: each poison line's own published page, with its hours and fees as that page states them.
  • Care guides: care advice published by veterinary charities, hospitals and reference manuals, such as the PDSA, VCA Animal Hospitals and the Merck Veterinary Manual, with the red flags that mean a vet should look first.

How they are checked

  • Every rule line and schedule row carries the link to its source, the date it was last checked and a date by which it must be checked again.
  • A travel rule that passes its check-again date is marked as possibly out of date and leaves the table, rather than staying up looking current.
  • Emergency numbers carry the same dates, and our tests fail as soon as one passes its check-again date.
  • Each travel rule line is checked a second time, independently, against the text of the law.
  • When we change a published fact, the change is logged with its date and source.

What automated review cannot catch

  • Two checks can misread the same source the same way.
  • A rule can change between two checks; the date beside each line tells you how fresh it is.
  • No page can see your pet. Breed, age, health and local rules change what is right for one animal.

Rules we write by

  • Vaccines are shown as windows to discuss with your vet, never as dates you have missed.
  • Reminders say what your record shows, never that a pet is or is not safe.
  • No food brands, no product recommendations and no affiliate links.
  • Illustrations made with AI are disclosed, and we never publish an AI-made picture that looks like a photograph of a real animal.
